Source: Jonathan Ornstein, CEO of Mesa Air Group, in announcing Air Midwest will be grounded by the end of next month due to soaring fuel prices. Air Midwest now serves 16 cities in 10 states, with a fleet of 19-seat Beech 1900 turboprops. Some cuts in service will begin next week, with the last Air Midwest flight occurring June 30.

Pilot Describes First Myanmar Relief Flight
"Please Bring More; Please Bring More..." The government of Myanmar apparently did nothing to warn or prepare its impoverished citizens for the May 2 landfall of Cyclone Nargis. Even when it became clear the death toll could reach six figures, the military junta reportedly stalled the arrival of foreign aid waiting offshore, while its leaders tried to figure out how they could enjoy exclusive credit for the charity.

Aero-TV: Hilton Software Powers Jeppesen Mobile Program (Part 1 of 2)
WingX and Jepp: Quite A Match! This has been quite a year for Hilton Software's WingX program... not only did they put together a truly inspired mobile information system for pilots that easily installs on just about any Phone/PDA powered by a Windows operating system, but it seems that Jeppesen kinda got caught up in what they did, as well... so much so that they have entered into an agreement to use WingX at the core of their new mobile offerings.
